Hollis Herrington Carbrey, Vocalist
Hollis Herrington Carbrey is a freshman at Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School in Indianapolis, Indiana. She recently performed with the Indianapolis Opera in La Bohème, was a soloist at Disney World with the Young Voices of Indianapolis Choir, and for Tea Time on the Train in Pinehurst, North Carolina. Miss Carbrey was cast as Cinderella in the St. Richard’s Episcopal School production of Into the Woods and as young Cosette of Les Misérables. She has been privileged to perform in the Sydney Opera House in Sydney, Australia and the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. As a chorister with the Trinity Episcopal Church Choir, she sung in grand cathedrals such as the American Cathedral in Paris, France, Norwich Cathedral and Ely Cathedral in England. She was also honored to sing the National Anthem at her previous school for the past six years.
At Brebeuf, Miss Carbrey was elected as freshman representative to Student Government and joined French Club, GEMS (Girls in Engineering Math and Science), and Speech and Debate. She is also a member of the Brebeuf cross country team, swim team, and tennis team. Even with all these activities, she has a 4.25 grade point average.
Most importantly, she is the granddaughter of Gayl Herrington Leathers. It was delightful to have her perform during the Holiday Tea.
