Luncheon with Katherine Black,
Author of Row by Row: Talking with Kentucky Gardeners Katherine's book is a powerful compilation of testimonies on the connections between land, people, culture, and home. These eloquent portraits, drawn from oral histories and supplemented by Deirdre Scaggs’ color photographs, form a meditation on how gardeners make sense of their lives through what they grow and how they grow it. 12:00 Noon The Woman's Club Dining Room Luncheon Menu Spinach and Artichoke Baked Pasta Mixed Greens with Pears, Walnuts, and blue Cheese Yeast Roll Candy Bar Cake Reservations by Noon, Monday, February 27, 2017 |

Guthrie Zaring and The Headley Museum of Art
George Headley studied art in New York and Paris before going to work for Paul Flato, the first celebrity jeweler in Beverly Hills. In 1949, he moved back to the family farm in Lexington on Old Frankfort Pike and married Barbara Whitney, a sister of Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney. Headley continued designing jewelry and bibelots, small curios made of gems and precious metals with intricate craftsmanship. Dozens of bibelots became the core of Headley's personal collection, and in 1968 he built a "jewel room" and library of art books beside his house. Join us as Guthrie Zaring fills in all the fascinating details of the Headley Whitney Museum. Luncheon Menu: Individual Chicken Pot Pie Romaine with Lemon-Poppyseed Dressing Pound Cake with Berries |
